While still predominately African American, over time the MWA membership has grown to embrace women from all ethnic backgrounds. MWA is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization. Madden golf course, a city of Dayton, Ohio owned course, is the home course for MWA.

The Madden Women's Association (MWA) was founded in 1983 and is comprised of approximately forty dedicated women who enjoy playing golf. Madden Golf Course in Dayton, OH has served as the home course for the Madden Women's Association since the organization's founding.
                           

The mission of the Madden Women's Association is two-fold: 1) To provide financial support for continuing education through annual scholarship awards to graduating African-American female high school and currently enrolled college students and 2) To provide financial and active support for the Greater Dayton Youth Golf Academy. 

MWA will host its 30th annual Invitational Golf Tournament on Saturday June, 4, 2016.
